Today we had to drive back up to Auckland and switch out or rental car (other car company) due to that there are no unbooked cars available anywhere at the moment so we are stuck with our original car reservations. We stopped for some gas, ice cream and lunch and once we got back to Taupo we stopped for some well deserved dinner before we took a 1h walk along the lake before hunkering down in our room trying to figure out how to get to Dunedin on the South Island on the 19th.
