Since diving to Napier to catch our original flight wasn’t an option, the only alternative to make it to Dunedin by Sunday was to catch a flight from Wellington Sunday morning.

We departed Rotorua around 9am in order to reach Wellington before darkenss, the planned route should take us around 6.5 hours of driving time. Along the the way we got some epic views while driving through Tongariro National Park, we also made a stop at Gollums Pool (Tawhai Falls) as the tourists we are!

The whole trip from Rotorua to Wellington took us around 8 hours from hotel room to hotel room. We are now settled in at the airport hotel for tomorrows morning fligh.
