Waiheke
Bikes, food & wine
After breakfast we headed over to the ferry terminal. We managed to get on the 9am ferry from Auckland to Waiheke. There were alot of people going out and the ferry was fully packed. There were a few clouds on the way out but nothing to worry about.
When we reached Waiheke we checked out the eletric bikes we reserved for the day and set off to explore the island.
There are several beaches on the island as well as many wineries. We set off along the suggested route and enjoyed the freedom of being on bikes!
We stopped at Casita Miro, one of the wineries, for lunch. They served a fixed tapas menu that was delicious joined by a glass of their wine.
Along the route back to the ferry we stopped along they way to enjoy the views, take a walk on the beach and also some wine tasting. Once back in Auckland we had a quick dinner before crashing in our room after an exhausting but fun day!
